i have one query i seen in many circuit there are capacitor is connected in parellor and second is connected to ground why this capacitor is placed ther??
That is called shunt capacitor. it is used for power factor correction. mostly in power system loads are inductive and becoz of this power factor goes down and low power factor have so many disadvantages. so to improve it and to keep it within specified limit have to use shunt capacitor.
